I’m not the best seamstress (my hubby is way better than me!), but even I learned to sew a button on and sew up a small hole in a shirt. A simple needle and thread can stitch up a lot of clothing and make it seem brand new. Instead of no longer wearing that piece of clothing, finding a way to repair it is usually fairly simple. Repair what you have – We all end up with holes or rips in some piece of clothing at some point.Most laundry detergents are cold water safe and it gets your clothing clean whether it’s hot or cold. ![]() With many laundry detergents formulated to wash with cold water, you can save a ton of energy by washing in cold water. Wash in Cold Water – Most of your laundry’s energy consumption goes into warming up the water.By washing less (as typically it’s not necessary every week) you are wasting less water and energy, which can help the environment, as well as prolonging the life of your clothing. Besides underwear, I personally only wash my jeans once a month or when they’ve become stretched out or dirty. I’m sure many of you do too!
